Apulian Masserias and Sustainable Wellness: a model of authentic tourism in the heart of Puglia
10 February 2025
Last November, we attended the Wellness Hospitality Conference in Milan, a landmark event for those who, like us at Nadira, believe that true hospitality cannot ignore wellness. Organized by Teamwork Hospitality, the meeting brought together experts, companies and professionals to take stock of new trends in the industry.
Here are the main insights that emerged, which confirm and reinforce our vision.
Wellness Tourism is growing strongly
In Italy alone, 13 million wellness-related trips were recorded in 2023, representing a turnover of $19.2 billion.
According to estimates, by 2050 33 percent of the world’s population will have the resources to travel, seeking experiences that combine relaxation, health, nature and self-care.
In this scenario, Puglia – and in particular the Itria Valley – is confirmed among the most desired destinations: for the authenticity of the places, the harmony of the landscape and that natural beauty that invites to slow down and regenerate.
We at Nadira, builders of beauty, feel the task and pleasure of enhancing these spaces, transforming them into living environments, where architecture, water and nature dialogue to create unique experiences of well-being.
Luxury hospitality embraces wellness
As Nerio Alessandri, founder and CEO of Technogym, pointed out, wellness areas are becoming the beating heart of high-end accommodations. Spas, wellness centers and spaces for physical activity are no longer mere optional extras, but central elements in the design of next-generation hotels.
Focus on longevity and preventive health
The new wellness frontier is looking at longevity: personalized analyses, nutrition programs, exercise trails and stress management. More and more guests are looking for places where they can take care of themselves holistically, finding vacation a real opportunity for regeneration.
Technological innovation in the service of wellness
Technology is revolutionizing the wellness experience. Augmented reality, artificial intelligence, and the collection and analysis of biometric data make it possible to build tailor-made itineraries and measure the benefits of the activities performed. As highlighted by Andrew Gibson, an international expert in the field, there is a need to move beyond traditional models to create evolved and truly transformative experiences.
Sustainability and conscious design
Last but not least, sustainable design: an ethical and strategic choice to create environments that respect the ecosystem and improve guest comfort. A value that belongs deeply to us, and which guides all our designs.
Conclusion
The hospitality of the future will be increasingly wellness-oriented, understood as an integrated and personalized experience.
Nadira, with its roots in Puglia and heart in the Itria Valley, is ready to be a protagonist of this change.
We do it every day, designing and building spaces where wellness takes shape, balancing technology, nature and beauty.
